How to Read a Website Quote Without Getting Burned

Two quotes for the same site can differ by thousands. The difference is usually in what is not written down.

When quotes for the same project come back wildly different, the gap is rarely skill. It is scope. One quote includes copywriting, images, revisions and a month of support; the other assumes you will supply everything and pays for changes by the hour.

Ask what a revision means. Some studios count a round of feedback as one revision; others count each individual change. The difference on a nine-page site is enormous.

Ask who owns the finished site and where it lives. You should be able to leave with your domain, your content and your site intact. If that is awkward to answer, treat it as a warning.

Ask what happens after launch. A quote with no answer to this is a quote that ends the moment the invoice is paid — which is fine if you know it going in, and unpleasant if you do not.

Our calculator exists so the arithmetic happens in front of you: pick a package, add the pages, revisions and extras you actually need, and see the number before you talk to anyone. No quote should be a mystery.
