Buying Green Coffee Directly

We buy roughly seventy percent of our green coffee on direct contracts with producers or single cooperatives, and the rest through importers we have worked with for years.

Direct does not automatically mean fairer. What makes it fair is a published price, a multi-year commitment, and prepayment before harvest so the farm is not financing us.

We publish the price we paid per pound for every lot on the bag. Sometimes it is uncomfortable reading. That is rather the point of publishing it.
